Who We Are
Against the Grain has been refinishing furniture for over twenty years. I have a long time interest in antique and vintage furniture. My interest in older furniture was expanded to include finishing of new unfinished furniture during my long tenure at one of the Portland metro areas unfinished furniture stores. Although I enjoyed designing and finishing new furniture as well as refinishing older furniture I wanted the freedom to pursue my ideas and skills as an independent business woman with my husband. The result has been the creation of a unique and versatile business that truly goes Against the Grain of the typical refinishing and retail furniture shop.
